More than a roof. A reason to stay.

Diverse Supported Accommodation CIC was founded in June 2022 to do one thing well: provide high-quality supported housing for adults with mental health needs across Greater London. We're a Community Interest Company by choice — locked by law to put community benefit before private profit.

Our story

Why this exists.

Most supported accommodation across the UK is sub-let, sub-contracted, and slow to respond. Repairs queue. Standards drift. Residents lose trust in the home itself. And the people who suffer most are the ones who had the least to lose in the first place.

We started Diverse Supported Accommodation CIC because we believed that didn't have to be the model. Quality supported housing — well-maintained, professionally run, transparent — is achievable. It just requires a provider who treats the home as part of the recovery, not as a backdrop to it.

So we built one. In-house maintenance, around-the-clock emergency response, Fixflo on every repair, gardens kept, windows cleaned — and a Community Interest Company structure that means no shareholder can ever take a cut of any of it.

What we believe

The reasons we built this — and the things we won't compromise on.

  1. A home is more than a roof. It is the place a person rests, recovers, eats, sleeps, and decides whether to engage with the rest of the world. Treat it as anything less and recovery stalls.
  2. Maintenance is a clinical issue, not an admin one. A broken boiler in February or an unmown lawn for three months isn't a low-priority work order — it's a setback for someone's mental health.
  3. "Supported" should mean supported. Properties left to deteriorate while the support contract gets paid is a model that has failed the sector for years. We won't be part of it.
  4. The right people should deliver the right service. We're a housing provider. Vetted, qualified support companies deliver the personal support. Each does what it does best.
  5. Trust is earned in public. Every claim on this site is verifiable on Companies House, in our CIC34 report, or in our Fixflo audit trail. "Look it up" beats "trust us" every time.
  6. Community benefit beats community marketing. Anyone can write social impact copy. A CIC is required by law to deliver it — and to file an annual public report proving it.
Mission & values

To raise the standard of supported housing in London.

So that the home itself becomes part of the recovery. Four values keep us honest about how we do it.

01

Quality

The home a resident lives in is held to the same standard you'd accept for someone you love.

02

Responsiveness

Repairs in hours, not weeks. Out-of-hours emergencies handled when they happen.

03

Dignity

Tidy gardens. Clean windows. A bedroom worth coming home to. Small things, said clearly.

04

Accountability

Every repair logged in Fixflo. Every claim verifiable. Every surplus locked to community use.

Our legal structure

What it actually means to be a CIC.

A Community Interest Company is a special type of limited company designed by Parliament in 2004 to put community benefit before private profit. Here's how that changes everything — in plain English.

Ordinary Limited Company

Profit flows out

Company Shareholders private profit
  • Profits paid out as dividends
  • Assets can be sold and proceeds taken
  • No requirement to benefit any community
  • No public report on social impact
Community Interest Company

Profit stays locked to the community

CIC Community in perpetuity
  • No dividends paid out — all surplus reinvested
  • Assets legally locked to community purpose
  • Must pass the Community Interest Test to exist
  • Must file an annual public CIC34 community report

For commissioners, families and referrers, the takeaway is simple: a CIC is the only common UK company form that comes with a built-in, regulator-enforced guarantee that the housing we hold and the money we earn can't be siphoned out as personal profit. More on the CIC Regulator →

Leadership

The person responsible.

Diverse Supported Accommodation CIC is led by a sole director. The buck stops in one place — which means decisions are quick, accountability is clear, and there's no boardroom to hide behind.
